Fee Brothers Partners With Iron Smoke Distillery for Limited Edition Whiskey Barrel-Aged Bitters

NEW YORK (October 6) – Fifth-generation business Fee Brothers has partnered with award-winning Iron Smoke Distillery to continue their tradition of premium small-lot barrel-aged bitters. A tradition which began in 2007, Fee Brothers age their classically aromatic bitters for a full year in freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Iron Smoke Distillery. Available only once per year, the limited edition bitters are highly sought after by bartenders and home mixologists alike.

"We’re proud to continue the tradition of offering barrel-aged bitters,” said Fee Brothers CEO Jon Spacher. “We’re grateful for our partners who provide the barrels to help us accomplish this yearly offering.” Jon recommends using the Whiskey

Barrel-Aged Bitters in what he calls a Reunion Old Fashioned. “Pair the Barrel-Aged Bitters with Iron Smoke Bourbon to bring these family members back together again!”

Tommy Brunett, CEO and Co-Founder of Iron Smoke Distillery, sees the collaboration as a labor of love. “Fee Brothers is a global leader in the cocktail industry and we are extremely proud to be working with and associated with such a phenomenal brand,” said Tommy. “Much like us, Fee Brothers creates these Bitters as a labor of love and the utmost care goes into making every drop.”

The Whiskey Barrel-Aged Bitters are aged in the barrels, infusing the essence of applewood smoked whiskey into the Fee Brothers Old Fashioned Aromatic Bitters. The result is a flavor profile that marries the deliciously smooth butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel notes of Iron Smoke’s bourbon with the nuanced flavor of cinnamon, clove, and orange. These Bitters are excellent in mocktails and cocktails alike, elevating classics such as the Manhattan or Old-Fashioned.

Traditionally, the Barrel-Aged Bitters sell out quickly. “We continue to be amazed at how quickly our distributors and importers snap up these limited edition offerings within about 6 weeks of offering,” Jon noted. “We always sell out quickly and believe this reflects the worldwide demand for limited offerings of specialized, premium products."

Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel-Aged Bitters began shipping to retailers and distributors in early October 2023 in a 5 oz. format.
