Behind the Bar with Molly Baker-Harris

Behind the Bar with Molly Baker-Harris | Fee Brothers

Molly Baker-Harris is a home bartender from Cedar Park, TX, USA.

How did you get started as a mixologist?

During Covid, my husband was working from home which was very different for us because he usually travels all the time. We wanted a way to connect at the end of the day and somehow Happy Hour became our thing. Cocktail creating quickly became a serious hobby for me and still is!

How would you describe your personal style as a bartender?

I like to be creative and try new things. I like cocktails that are fairly simple but use high quality ingredients. I like drinks that taste good, look beautiful but that anyone can make, even in their backyard! I take cocktail making pretty seriously.

What keeps you passionate about bartending and the hospitality industry?

There is always something new to try and more to learn. Plus, it’s fun!

What inspires your creativity when crafting new cocktails?

My husband and I like to travel so when we come back to the backyard, our travels are a big inspiration. Friends and family are also a big inspiration. I’ve found the cocktail community to be very supportive and encouraging and that’s been fun for me.

What’s your favorite Fee Brothers product to work with, and why?

Bitters! But how could I choose just one! Some of my favorites are Plum, Black Walnut, Toasted Almond, Turkish Tobacco and Rhubarb but I use many others all the time as well!

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to become a better mixologist?

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Try new things and have fun!

What is your signature drink, and what makes it special?

I don’t think I really have one. I like to try new things everyday. I’m known for having a huge home bar so I can make you whatever you want!

My Granddad's Pipe | Behind the Bar with Molly Baker-Harris | Fee BrothersDo you have a favorite recipe in which you use Fee Brothers products?

This is one of my favorite recipes using Fee Brothers Bitters. It’s very meaningful to me and full of special memories of my great grandfather!

My Granddad’s Pipe

Add syrup and bitters to an old fashioned glass. Stir. Add bourbon and a large ice cube. Stir. Garnish with an orange slice and a picture of your granddad if possible! A licorice pipe would also be nice!!
